8月4日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第11回リーダー会議を開催しました。

まだ応募者が多くありませんが、今週末から「分科会」を開催します。リーダー7名が担当する7つの分科会で少人数に分かれてコミュニケーションを図ります。3か国の参加者混合で5名程度なので、気軽に話し合いが出来るものと期待しています。意思疎通の道具として「UDトーク」を活用する予定です。

We had the 11th leaders meeting of "Global Communication for University Students" on August 4.

There are not many applicants yet, but we will be holding "Subcommittees" starting this weekend. There will be 7 Subcommittees led by 7 leaders, and participants will be divided into small groups to communicate with each other. There will be about 5 participants from three countries, so we hope that they will be able to have casual discussions. We plan to use "UD Talk" as a tool for better communication.

7月12日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第9回スタッフ会議を開催しました。

今回が、最後のスタッフ会議をなります。
6月30日に開催した小学生地球市民会議のまとめと、これまでのボランティアスタッフとして活動してきたことの感想などを述べ合ったところです。
3月の初回の打ち合わせから、長い期間手伝っていただき、本当に感謝いたします。実りある経験になったことを願っています。また、事前研修と本会議を手伝ってくれたボランティアの皆さんにも感謝申し上げます。

We had the 9th staff meeting of "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on July 12.

This will be our last staff meeting.
We summarized the "Global Communication for Primary School Students" held on June 30th and shared our thoughts on the volunteer work so far.
We are very grateful for their help over such a long period of time since our first meeting in March. We hope that it was a fruitful experience. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped with the pre-training and main conference.

7月13日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第9回リーダー会議を開催しました。

今回で、プログラムの詳細が決まりました。
7月：募集期間
8月～9月：少人数に分かれての分科会
9月～10月：各国ごとの準備会議
10月26日（土）：本会議
となります。
ポスター、計画書詳細、オンラインの申し込みフォーム、もほぼ出来上がり、やっと募集を開始できます。
少し遅れていますが、8月から少人数に分かれての分科会を開催する予定です。3か国（日本、フィリピン、台湾）の参加者が混じってのオンラインの分科会なので、きっと盛り上がることでしょう。＾＾

We had the 9th leaders meeting of "Global Communication for University Students" on July 13.

This time, the details of the program have been decided.
July: Recruitment period
August - September: Subcommittee meetings in small groups
September - October: Preparatory meetings at each country
October 26th: Plenary Conference

The poster, plan details, and online application form are almost ready, and we can finally start recruiting.
Although it is a little late, we are planning to hold subcommittee meetings from August. It will be online meetings with participants from three countries (Japan, Philippines, Taiwan). Then it will surely be exciting!

6月30日（日）に「2024年 小学生地球市民会議」を無事開催しました。
日本、マレーシア、スリランカの小学生がスクリーンに一堂に会し、テーマに沿って交流しました。

We've held "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on June 30th successfully.
Primary school students from Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka gathered on a screen and interact together according to the theme.

テーマ：「教えて！あなたのくらし」  -宗教と生活の関わりを知ろう-
Theme: "Tell us about your daily life!”  (Let’s see the relationship between religion and life)

本会議前に、2回目の事前研修を行いました。発表資料の完成や発表練習を行いました。

＜テーマに沿った紹介＞　Presentations according to the theme.

テーマに沿って、それぞれの国から2つの行事や祭りを紹介します。
They introduce 2 events or festivals according to the theme.

日本側は、「大綱挽」（おおつなひき）と「ムーチー」を紹介しました。
Japan side introduced "Tug of War" festival and "Muchi" event.

「大綱挽」は、那覇大綱挽のビデオを紹介しました。
As for Tug of War, we showed Naha Otsuyahiki video.

ムーチーは、手書きで鬼の物語を紹介しました。
As for Muchi, we introduces a story of Oni (Japanese demon).

実際のムーチーも紹介しました。We showed the real Muchi too.

マレーシア側は、イスラム教の「Hari Raya Aidil Fitri」という祭りと、ヒンドゥー教の「Thaipusam」という祭りを紹介してくれました。
From Malaysia, they introduced "Hari Raya Aidil Fitri" festival for Muslim, and "Thaipusam" festival for Hindu.

スリランカ側は、「Vesak」の祭りと「Thai Pongal Festival」を紹介してくれました。
From Sri Lanka, they introduced "Vesak celebrations" and "Thai Pongal Festival".

文化紹介として、沖縄の空手も紹介しました。
As for cultural introduction, we performed Karate.

自由質問では、遊びの紹介で、マレーシアにも同じような遊びがあってびっくり。一緒にやってみました。
At the free question time, we showed a popular game, and realized that there is a very similar game in Malaysia.We both played it on line.

みんな楽しそうな中、無事終了しました。
We came to the end with lots of fun.

最後に、今日のまとめを行いました。
After the event, we summarized it.

今回も、無事終了です。

今回、参加者が2名となってしまったのは非常に残念でしたが、ふたりの活躍ぶりは見事でした。
今回、日本側が紹介した「大綱挽」「ムーチー」には、豊作祈願や厄払いなどの意味があります。日本や沖縄では、古くから自然を崇拝する伝統や先祖供養の伝統があるという意味で、このふたつを紹介することになりました。

It was very unfortunate that there were only two participants this time, but their performance was really admirable.
The "Tug of War" and "Muchi" that the Japanese side introduced this time have meanings such as praying for a good harvest and warding off evil spirits. We decided to introduce these two because Japan and Okinawa have traditions of worshiping & respecting nature and honoring ancestors.

　6月27日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」のマレーシア側とのシステム試験を再度行いました。
　問題ありません。また、簡単なリハーサルも行いました。
　本番が楽しみです！

We had a system test with Malaysia side for "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on June 27 again.
Everything is fine. We also had a short rehearsal.
We are looking foward to seeing them soon!

6月22日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第1回事前研修を行いました。
今回、なかなか参加者が集まっていませんが、事前研修は無事開催出来ました。
学校紹介について、持ち物紹介について、テーマに沿った祭りや行事の紹介（２つ）について、どれも参加者の意見を聞きながら決めていきました。本番が楽しみです。
多くの子供たちに参加してほしいので、30日まで募集を続けます。

We had the first preparation meeting for "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on June 22.
Unfortunately there are not many participants this time yet, but the preparation meeting was successful.
We are looking forward to meeting students from other countries!

　6月14日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」のマレーシア側とのシステム試験を行いました。
マイクの問題がありましたが、無事解決できました。
　子供たちからも、「楽しみにしています！」と言ってくれました。

We had a system test with Malaysia side for "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on June 14.
There was MIC problem, but we could solve it this time.
Students said "We are looking forward to jon the event!".

6月30日（日）に開催する「小学生地球市民会議」の募集についての記事が、新聞に掲載されました。

5月19日に沖縄タイムス社を訪ね、「小学生 地球市民会議」募集記事の掲載をお願いしてきました。
編集部は、タイムスビルの11階にあり、眺めがすごくいいので、思わず1枚。

We visited The Okinawa Times, and requested for an article publication of recruitment for "Global Communication for Primary School Students" on May 19.
We took some pictures because the view is so nice from the flower of the editorial department which is located on the 11th floor!

5月8日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」のマレーシア側スタッフとの打ち合わせを行いました。
Taman Merak小学校は、今回初めての参加となるので、プログラムの概要から装置の構成、今回の会議の詳細まで、時間をかけて話し合いを行いました。多くの先生が参加されたので、その意気込みを感じたところです。
装置の一部に不具合があったので、次回の打合せまでに対応してもらうことになりました。
時間をかけて話し合ったので、だいぶ安心されたようです。

We had a meeting with staff of Malaysia side for "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on May 8.
Since this was the first time for Taman Merak Primary School to participated in the program, we spent much time to discuss the outline of the program, equipments setting, details of the conferene and etc. I could see their interent, because of their number of teachers at the meeting.
There was a problem with part of the system. Then they will solve it untill the next meeting.
We spent enough time for the meeting, and they seemed to be much more relieved.

　4月25日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第5回リーダー会議を開催しました。

　無事、テーマが決まりました。
　「地域の再生」に関する具体例を、お互いに紹介することになりました。
　それぞれの国や地域において、「地域の再生」の事例を2つずつ紹介します。参加者の専攻分野に関する事例でも構いません。
　まずは、少人数の部会において、「地域の再生」に関する具体例を各自が紹介しあいながら議論を進めていきます。部会は3か国の学生が参加しているので、国を越えた事例紹介となります。
　その上で、それぞれの国ごとに、「ぜひ紹介したい事例」2つを選んで、本会議で発表する形式です。もちろん、発表にとどまらず、会議参加者からの、各事例についての突っ込んだ質問や意見や提案を期待しています。
　いずれにせよ、テーマが決まったことで、企画が進んだと実感するところです。

We had the 5rd leaders meeting of "Global Communication for University Students" on April 25.

The theme has been decided successfully.
We decided to introduce specific examples of "regional revitalization" to each other.
We will introduce 2 examples of "regional revitalization" in each country.
It can also be an example related to the participant's field of study.
Firstly, in a subcommittee, each participant will introduce specific examples of "regional revitalization" to each other, and discuss among them. Students from three countries are in a subcommittee, then it will be a case study beyond national boundaries.
Then, at each country, 2 valuable examples will be selected which will be worthwhile introducing and presenting at the main conference. Of course, in addition to the presentations, in-depth questions, opinions, and suggestions regarding each case study from the conference participants are expected.
Anyway, the theme has been decided. The project has been proceeded.

4月26日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」のスリランカ側スタッフとの打ち合わせを行いました。
スリランカ側スタッフとしては、初めての運営となるので、プログラム全般についての説明とビデオ会議のシステム構成などを一通り説明しました。
非常に積極的に参加していただいているので、こちらも助かっています。また、「このような機会は、スリランカの子供たちにとって非常に貴重な機会となります。」という言葉も、我々の活動の意義を再確認するところです。

We had a meeting with staff of Sri Lanka side for "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on April 26.
It was the first time for Sri Lanka side to organize this kind of program. Then we discussed the basic idea of the program, and also explained the whole system for video call at the conference.
We are happy that they are very much attentive. Also their words "This kind of opportunity is very precious for children in Sri Lanka." reaffirm the significance of our activities

4月12日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第5回スタッフ会議を開催しました。
今回で、計画書やポスターなどがほぼ仕上がったので、4月後半から学校や新聞社に案内に行く予定です。

We had the 5th staff meeting of "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on April 12.
We could mostly complete the documents and a poster for the program. Then we will start announcing the program to schools and newspaper companies.

4月11日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第4回リーダー会議を開催しました。

今回は、主にテーマの詳細について議論しました。
前回の会議で新しい案を検討したので、それについて改めて話し合い、最終的にその方向で進める予定です。
次回の会議までにはテーマを確定させたいと思います。

We had the 4rd leaders meeting of "Global Communication for University Students" on April 11.

This time, we mainly discussed the details of the theme.
We discussed the new idea which was expressed at the last meeting, and eventually we moved in that direction.
We need to decide the theme by the next meeting.

4月4日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第3回リーダー会議を開催しました。

今回は、台湾側フィリピン側の都合が悪く、台湾側0名、フィリピン側1名の参加となりました。また、フィリピン側の通信状況が悪かったようで、最後には日本側のみで会議を続けたところです。
今回もテーマの詳細について議論しました。国を混合した事前の部会と、国単位の本会議の組み合わせを考慮した、テーマを何にするかでいろいろな意見が出たところです。今回も決定という所まで行けませんでした。
次回こそは、テーマを確定させたいところです。
今回から日本側もリーダー2名体制となりました。

We had the 3rd meeting with leaders from 3 countries for "Global Communication for University Students" on April 4.

This time, due to inconveniences on both the Taiwan and Philippines sides, 0 participants from the Taiwan side and 1 person from the Philippines participated. Also,because of unstable Internet access from Philippine side, we continued the meeting with Japan side only.
This time again, we discussed the details of the theme. Considering the combination of the subcommittee meetings which included a mix of countries, and the main conference, various opinions were expressed on what the theme should be. This time, too, we couldn't make a decision.
We need to confirm the theme next time.
From this time on, we have 2 leaders at Japan side.

4月7日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第4回スタッフ会議を開催しました。

今回は、本会議の構成の詳細や資料の作成状況、全体スケジュールの確認などを行いました。また、今回からボランティアスタッフが1名増えたところです。
4月中には資料やポスターを仕上げて、小学校や新聞社に案内に行く予定です。

We had the 4th staff meeting of "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on April 7.
This time, we confirmed the details of the program order of the conference, and checked the overall schedule.
Also we invited a new volunteer staff member from tihs time.
By the end of April, we will complete the documents and posters, and visit elementary schools and newspaper companies to inform our program.

2024年3月22日に、神奈川県の大津中学校とマレーシアのHSBM中等学校とのオンライン交流が開催されました。
スプラタルカとしては、相手校の紹介や、実際の交流までを支援したところです。今回は、お互い2度目の交流となります。
「学校の1日」として、写真やビデオで紹介したりしたそうです。また自由質問では、音楽やアニメについて盛り上がったそうです。
今回年度末ということで慌ただしかったので、次回は事前にスケジュールの調整をしていくことになりました。

Global Communication between Ootsu Junior High School in Kanagawa Prefecture & HSBM Secondary school in Malaysia was held on March 22, 2024.
As for Supratarka, we introduced the partner school and supported the actual exchange. This was the second time interacting with each other.
As a "day at school," they introduced it with photos and videos. Also, during the free questions, they seemed to get excited about music and anime.
It was the end of the fiscal year, so we decided to adjust the schedule in advance for the next time.

3月23日、4月1日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第2回・3回スタッフ会議を開催しました。

テーマ、日程、その他、基本的な部分について確認できたところです。
日程：6月30日（日）日本時間14:00～16:00
テーマ：「教えて！あなたのくらし」 - 宗教と生活の関わりを知ろう -
　　　　"Tell us about your daily life!" - Let's see the relationship between religion and life -
　　　＊日常にある行事を通して、その背後にある宗教的意味も一緒に紹介するという狙いです。
参加国：日本、マレーシア、スリランカ　の小学生
事前研修を行い、日本側として何の行事を紹介するか、その宗教的意味はどんなものか、などを話し合って発表の準備をします。
4月中旬には募集を開始する予定です。

We had the 2nd & 3rd staff meeting of "Global Communication for Primary School Students 2024" on March 23 and April 1.

We discussed the theme, schedules and other important topics.
Date: June 30 (Sun) 14:00 - 16:00 Japan time.
Theme: "Tell us about your daily life!" - Let's see the relationship between religion and life -
      *By introducing popular events, we expect them to understand religious background behind it.
Participants: Students of Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka.
We will conduct preliminary meetings, and discuss what events will be introduced from the Japan side, and find out the religious meanings behind it.
We will start recruiting participants in the middle of April.

　3月21日に、「大学生 地球市民会議」の第2回リーダー会議を開催しました。

　今回は、部会の形式や資料作成、ポスター作成、翻訳ソフトの試験（UDトーク）などを行いました。
　事前の部会を複数回行い、そこで自己紹介や地域紹介、テーマについての議論など、世間話を含めていろいろなことが話し合われるので、部会の形式は非常に重要となります。今回、リーダーが各部会をまとめる形で、合計9個の部会を準備する方向でまとまりました。出来るだけ少人数で、誰もが参加できる形式にしたいと思っています。
　翻訳ソフト「UDトーク」については、初めての実地試験ではありましたが、相当に使えるという印象です。英語・日本語・中国語という3か国語を同時に処理する必要がありますが、基本的にうまく行っているようです。言語の入力と出力の設定や切り替えなどが不慣れではありましたが、使える道具だと感じました。今後、より使い方を工夫しようと思います。
　テーマについて話し合う時間がなかったので、次回にはテーマを決定する予定です。

We had the 2nd meeting with leaders from 3 countries for "Global Communication for University Students" on March 21.

　This time, we discussed the format of the subcommittee, documents of the plan, poster’s design, and field test of translation software (UD Talk).
　The format of the subcommittee is very important because we will hold subcommittee meetings several times in advance, where various things will be discussed such as self-introductions, regional introductions, and discussions on themes including small talks. We decided to manage each subcommittee by each leader, and a total of nine subcommittees will be prepared. We want to keep the number of people in subcommittee as small as possible, so that everyone can easily participate.
　This was our first field test of the translation software "UD Talk", and we realized that it can be used quite well. We need to communicate in three languages at the same time: English, Japanese, and Chinese, and it basically seems to work well. Although we were not familiar with setting and switching between language input and output, We felt that it was a useful tool. We will try and see how much the system will work for our purpose.
　We didn't have time to discuss the theme, so we will decide on the theme next time.

3月16日に、「2024年 小学生 地球市民会議」の第1回スタッフ会議を開催しました。

今回、ボランティアスタッフとして、3名が参加してくれています。
まだ概要の確認の段階ですが、6月16日（日）を予定しています。沖縄の会場に集まる形で開催します。
相手国は、マレーシアの小学校が決定しています。あと1校は検討中です。
テーマについても、検討しているところです。

This time, three volunteer staff members are participating.
We are still in the process of confirming the outline, but we are planning to hold it on June 16th (Sunday).
It will be held at a venue in Okinawa.
The partner country is a Malaysian primary school. One more school is under consideration.
We are also considering the theme.
